How we score

The editorial take

Alden & Harlow writes cocktails in the same compressed vocabulary as its food menu. Sun on Stone layers a blood-orange Privateer rum made for the restaurant with Paranubes, cold-smoked passion fruit, Montenegro and lime. Summer Breeze strips the idea down to Chartreuse, pineapple oleo, falernum and citrus, while Marteani turns Earl Grey and bergamot around a local gin. Eleven dinner drinks stay within $15-$17 despite ingredients that range from Szechuan gin to sake and poblano. The list's success comes from culinary detail without surrendering recognizable shapes: sours, long drinks, tropical builds and bitter aperitivo structures remain visible beneath the pantry work. Its weakness is navigation; terse ingredient strings do not tell a guest which of several elaborate combinations will drink dry, plush or forceful. Brunch and the outdoor bar broaden the occasions, but the dinner signatures are the real assignment. No current standalone spirits list was found, so the evidence supports cocktails rather than a separate backbar judgment.

What should I order?
Sun on Stone is the most specific expression of place, using the restaurant's blood-orange Privateer rum with smoky passion fruit and Paranubes. Choose Summer Breeze for a brighter Chartreuse-and-pineapple build, or Marteani when tea, bergamot and quinine sound more appealing than tropical fruit.
Who will enjoy this place?
Diners who like culinary cocktails, savory or herbal modifiers and concise seasonal lists will have the most to explore. Guests who need detailed sweetness and texture cues may have to ask questions because the menu reads as ingredient shorthand.
When should I go?
Dinner is the best view of the full eleven-drink list. Weekend brunch adds the $13 choose-your-spirit A&H Bloody Mary and two composed brunch cocktails, while the outdoor bar offers simpler $12 French 75 and Aperol Spritz service.
What should I expect to spend?
Dinner cocktails cost $15-$17. Brunch cocktails run $13-$16, alcohol-free drinks are $9-$10, and the current outdoor French 75 and Aperol Spritz are $12 each.
What makes the beverage program distinctive?
Kitchen methods and pantry flavors enter the glass with unusual discipline: cold smoke, pineapple oleo, tea, herbs and chile support identifiable cocktail forms rather than becoming novelty lists.

Cocktails

Inebrious Cocktails score: 91 out of 100

A tightly priced seasonal list translates smoking, infusion and pantry ingredients into recognizable structures, led by a signature built on the restaurant's own Privateer rum.

Menu strengths

  • Venue-specific blood-orange Privateer rum
  • Broad modifier vocabulary spanning tea, chile, herbs and aperitifs
  • Distinct dinner, brunch and outdoor service formats

Standout selections

  • Sun on Stone
  • Summer Breeze
  • Marteani

Pricing: Eleven dinner cocktails are $15-$17; brunch cocktails are $13-$16 and outdoor classics are $12

How it sits with the food

Summer Breeze's lime and pineapple can cut through crispy pork belly, while Marteani's tea and quinine suit the herbal, creamy elements of the kale salad. Sun on Stone has enough smoke, bitter orange and cane-spirit weight for the Secret Burger or braised beef.
