Castle Island's Norwood board is designed to keep a large group drinking from the same source. The current menu names 19 beers: light and corn lagers, Belgian wheat, amber, shandy, sour, two stouts, maibock and a long hoppy middle. Bo' Shine is the indispensable calibration pour. The 4.9% Czech pilsner uses Saaz hops and house lager yeast, then reaches the glass through a Lukr side pull. It is a more informative measure of the production brewery than immediately jumping to one of several IPAs. The limited end supplies the risk. Another Green World co-ferments Lodi Sauvignon Blanc must with Espe Kveik yeast over a pilsner-and-wheat base, with Mosaic and Citra pushing peach, guava, lychee and passionfruit. At the opposite extreme of weight, the 3.5% shandy folds lemonade into light lager; at the top, a toasted-marshmallow Russian imperial stout reaches 10.7%. That 7.2-point alcohol span and the underlying style coverage are impressive. Yet six pale-ale or IPA variants still crowd the center, published draft prices are absent, and the venue summary says 18 beers while the menu names 19. Norwood offers both dependable and adventurous brewing at useful scale, but its digital housekeeping does not match the liquid ambition.

- Start with side-pulled Bo' Shine and keep it beside the pizza. Make Another Green World the second pour if the Sauvignon Blanc and tropical-fruit crossover appeals. Southie Toast is the moderate stout option; treat the 10.7% toasted-marshmallow imperial stout as a small, final order rather than another round.

- Groups split between lager, wheat beer, IPA, sour and stout; Czech-pilsner drinkers attentive to service; and experimenters curious about grape-beer co-fermentation without giving up familiar fallback choices.
- When should I go?
- Visit when Bardo's is serving and the production room is active around the taproom. Friday opens at 2 p.m. and weekends at noon; arrive before the daily 8 p.m. 21-plus cutoff if children are part of the group.

- Draft prices and pour sizes are not published. Current to-go examples include White Ale four-packs and CBC Amber six-packs at $13.50, Surf Gods four-packs at $17.50, and 19.2-ounce cans of Keeper and Hi-Def at $4-$5; these do not establish taproom pour prices.
