How we score

The editorial take

Spoke makes twelve wines feel like a much larger map by avoiding the grapes that usually consume a short list. Domaine Huards supplies Romorantin from Cour-Cheverny; American Wine Project brings Frontenac Gris from Wisconsin; Des Vins d'Envie contributes Savoie Mondeuse; and Le Piane closes with a Piedmont blend of Croatina and Vespolina. Finger Lakes Riesling and Tuscan Sangiovese provide recognizable coordinates without flattening the exploration. This is concentrated curation, not cellar spectacle. Two sparkling wines, three whites, three orange or rosé selections and four reds give every section a purpose, while the food menu offers enough acidity, fermentation, spice and richness to make the bottles useful at dinner. The missing information matters: Spoke publishes neither wine prices nor pour sizes, and it says the menu can change. Still, exact producers, vintages, grapes and origins make the editorial intent unusually visible even when the bill is not.

What should I order?
Start with Domaine Huards Romorantin for the list's clearest Loire outlier, then choose American Wine Project Antipodes if Wisconsin Frontenac Gris is unfamiliar. Red drinkers should compare the Savoie Mondeuse with Le Piane's Croatina-Vespolina blend rather than defaulting immediately to Sangiovese.
Who will enjoy this place?
Curious drinkers who value unfamiliar grapes and concise curation over famous labels will get the most from Spoke. Guests who need pricing certainty or a large reserve cellar cannot evaluate either from the published menu.
When should I go?
The bar is open Wednesday through Saturday from 5:00 to 11:00 PM, with the kitchen serving until 10:00 PM. Arrive while the kitchen is active because the list is designed to work with the rotating small plates.
What should I expect to spend?
Current wine prices and pour sizes are not published online. The venue notes that its menu is subject to change, so pricing must be confirmed onsite.
What makes the beverage program distinctive?
A tiny list behaves like a grape-discovery syllabus, finding room for Romorantin, Frontenac Gris, Mondeuse and Croatina-Vespolina without abandoning more familiar Riesling and Sangiovese reference points.

Beverage categories

We only score what a venue sets out to do. Categories a venue doesn't attempt are left unscored rather than penalized.

Wine

Inebrious Wine score: 93 out of 100

A precise twelve-wine selection favors uncommon grapes and geographically diverse small-scale exploration, with unusually complete producer and origin details but no public pricing.

Menu strengths

  • Rare-grape breadth within a compact list
  • Producer, vintage, cuvée, grape and origin disclosed
  • Strong geographic range from Wisconsin and the Finger Lakes to Savoie and Piedmont

Standout selections

  • Domaine Huards 2020 Romo Romorantin
  • American Wine Project 2021 Antipodes Frontenac Gris
  • Des Vins d'Envie 2018 Le Cirque de l'Amoureuse Mondeuse

Pricing: Current wine prices and pour sizes are unpublished; the official menu is subject to change

How it sits with the food

Romorantin's acidity can meet red snapper crudo or marinated chickpeas and tuna; orange wine has enough grip for wood ear mushrooms and curry crisp; Mondeuse can take the mustard jus of the pork chop. Exact matches depend on the rotating list and plates.
