The editorial take
Wusong Road makes its Asian American perspective structural rather than decorative. Mango sticky rice infuses the rum in its colada; Pandan Express threads Roku gin through pandan, honeydew, cucumber, coconut water, vermouth and oloroso; and the top Mai Tai begins with 17-year Fijian rum that Planteray finishes for another three years in an ume-plum cask. These are not flavor swaps performed after a generic tropical template is complete. They alter the spirit, texture and aromatic center of the drink. The menu still keeps its lineage legible. A Zombie piles several rums, overproof strength, grapefruit, orgeat, lime, herbstura and falernum into a familiar maximalist frame, while the Singapore Sling supplies another historic reference point. The private-cask Mai Tai is expensive relative to the rest of the published list, and souvenir glassware can push the bill higher still. Yet the costly pour earns editorial weight because the exclusive cask is not back-bar theater: ume, yuzu and Korean plum carry that rum through a fully integrated recipe. Wusong Road succeeds when Chinese and broader Asian flavors change how tiki works, not simply how it looks.
- What should I order?
- Pandan Express is the clearest house thesis without the private-cask premium: gin, pandan, melon, cucumber, coconut water, vermouth and oloroso move between tropical, green and dry. For rum, choose the Mango Sticky Rice Colada, then use the Zombie as the classic benchmark. The Private Cask Mai Tai is the splurge for guests specifically interested in cask influence.
- Who will enjoy this place?
- Tiki drinkers who want recognizable historic forms but also care about house infusions, Asian pantry flavors and a program willing to invest in a proprietary rum cask.
- When should I go?
- Use the first-come ground-floor bar for a drink-focused visit. Tiki service lasts until midnight Thursday through Saturday and 11 p.m. on the other open nights, so later weekend hours offer the widest window without requiring a table booking.
- What should I expect to spend?
- Current public menu transcription lists the Zombie at $16.88 and Private Cask Mai Tai at $28.88. Optional souvenir glassware adds $15 to the Mai Tai and $36 for the Zombie mug; other current cocktail prices are not consistently exposed in searchable official text.
- What makes the beverage program distinctive?
- The program modifies base spirits and classic architecture with mango sticky rice, pandan and ume rather than relying on tropical garnish alone; its proprietary plum-cask Fijian rum makes that commitment unusually literal.

We only score what a venue sets out to do. Categories a venue doesn't attempt are left unscored rather than penalized.
Cocktails
Classic tiki scaffolding supports a highly specific Asian American pantry, with meaningful work done through infused rum, house juices, fortified wine and an exclusive ume-plum cask rather than through presentation alone.

How it sits with the food
Coconut, mango, lime and spice recur across drinks and Chinese American bar food. Rangoons and bao suit the drier Pandan Express, while chili-forward snacks can stand up to the sweeter Mango Sticky Rice Colada; a large pupu platter is the practical anchor for a multi-round tiki session.
